Continuing with their series of behind the scenes looks at RAGE the developers at id Software discuss the themes, inspirations and innovations that will hopefully make the world of RAGE one of the most awe-inspiring the industry has ever seen. They’d also like to let you in on how a certain character from The Big Lebowski made his way into the game.

Good news: it looks like Mr. Freeze has officially been added to the ever-growing list of characters to be featured in the forthcoming (October 18) Batman: Arkham Asylum. Better news: he looks and sounds nothing like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Game Group today announced a partnership with SCEE to release PS3 titles, DLC and subscriptions to the PSN in the company’s Game and Gamestation stores.
The final installment of the Metro: Last Light E3 demo is finally here. Roughly a month after the event it looks as if we can put E3 2011 to bed at long last.
The newly redesigned BBC iPlayer has been live on the PS3 for a few days now, giving us plenty of time to dig through all of the changes (and watch a fair bit of TV).
The new design takes full advantage of HTML5 to create an interface that is “visually rich”. This new design will be rolled out to several BBC iPlayer compatible TVs, set-top boxes and blu-ray players in the future – but for now it’s only available on the PS3.

Aside from all that noise it’s a fairly quiet week on the PlayStation Store as far as new content is concerned but there’s always the chance that you’ll a piece of DLC which strikes your fancy.
Bethesda Softworks officially unveiled the package of goodies that are to be included in the collector’s edition of their forthcoming massive RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
A new annual PSN event is being introduced by Sony called PLAY for users in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The event will showcase four PSN titles, and offer people the chance to pre-order “PLAY” titles to gain DLC content and themes. Those who pre-order all PLAY titles will get PayDay: The Heist for free.
As the release of RAGE draws nearer Bethesda Softworks and id Software thought it prudent to give us all a more in-depth look at the game’s more plot focused intricacies. Time to get acquainted the oppressive might of the ‘Authority’ and undying will of the ‘Resistance’.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is all about giving you several options to tackle a situation. However, many gamers find it hard enough to master straightforward games never mind ones that like to complicate things. Unsure if Deus Ex is going to be too fiddly for your liking? Check out this trailer from Square Enix because it should make things clearer.

A description of Kyuiin in the most uncomplicated fashion would be to say that it is a basic side-scrolling shooter. The mid to late nineties were chock full of ‘em and chances are you’ve come across your fair share in the span of your gaming life. However Kyuiin is more than that. It’s an outlandish, at times psychedelic experience whose peculiar themes make the idea of a flying vacuum cleaner seem practically normal.
Released in 2009, Borderlands was met with widespread critical acclaim that praised the first person shooter and RPG mechanics which set the game apart from all others. It comes as no surprise then, that a sequel is currently in the works and set for a fiscal year 2013 release, according to 2K Games and Gearbox Software.
So, what can we expect from the role-playing shooter sequel?

The first batch of DLC for Brink launches today on the EU PSN Store. It was out yesterday in the US. The Agents of Change DLC will add two new maps, Founders’ Tower and Labs, as well as five new player abilities, two new outfits, and two weapon attachments. And the great news is that it is free. You can’t knock a freebie.
