Crysis Console on the way and looking good

Submitted by on Tuesday, 27 September 20112 Comments

Thus far, 2011 has been a gilded year for Crytek. The haloed Crysis series made its mark on the console market in March with the much lauded Crysis 2.

Given the warm reception Crysis 2 received, Crytek have decided to bring console gamers full circle with the offering of the original Crysis via PSN download next month. If these screenshots are any indication the game will maintain the renowned presentation quality established by Crysis four years prior.

Roughly a week from today (October 4th/5th) when the PlayStation Store undergoes its weekly update PS3 gamers will be privy to a full single-player campaign download of Crysis.

“We are extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish with Crysis. We set out to create a next-generation FPS and delivered a PC experience that became a benchmark for quality – and still is for many gamers even four years later. By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming.” – Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek

Although Crysis Console’s announcement trailer features video taken from the Xbox 360 build, the difference between the graphics on both consoles (the Wii is a toy not a gaming console) will no doubt be negligible.

For a quick update on how everything  is rounding out right before the release have a gander at this freshly baked batch of screenshots. They look delicious do they not?
