Original Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors headed to the PSN

Submitted by on Thursday, 17 November 2011No Comment

The original PlayStation fighting game Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors is headed to the PSN, announced Capcom today.

It’s been years since a proper Dalkstalkers release but Capcom has always made sure the franchise is never forgotten with its characters routinely making guest appearances in fighting games. Most recently, Morrigan, Felicia, and Hsien-ko all appeared in both versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Now, fans will have the opportunity to go back and play the game that started it all.

The Night Warriors, released on the PlayStation in 1996, is based off the original arcade game from 1994 and features a cast of 10 mythical monsters battling for dominance. They include Demitri Maximoff, Jon Talbain, Victor von Gerdenheim, Lord Raptor, Morrigan Aensland, Anakaris, Felicia, Oboro Bishamon, Rikuo and Sasquatch.

It appears that the PSN version is going to be a simple re-release of the PSOne classic, and not a remake of any form so don’t expect any upgraded visuals or new content.

The release date is currently set for November 29 although no price has been announced yet.
