The release date for Ridge Racer Unbounded, the aggressive new entry into the long-running Ridge Racer series, was today announced by Namco Bandai. It will crash into stores in EMEA and Australasia regions on 2 March 2012 before reaching North America four days later, on 6 March 2012.
Rainbow 6 Patriots has been revealed as Game Informer’s cover story for December, GI announced today. The game is said to be taking the Rainbow 6 franchise in an entirely new direction.
Players will be able to step in the shoes of three entirely different factions; Team Rainbow, a homegrown terrorist uprising, and the civilians caught in the crossfire. The terrorists, known as True Patriots, are attempting to overthrow the U.S. government and will go through any means necessary to accomplish their mission.
SideQuest Studios, the same developers who brought us the shoot’em up sidescroller Söldner-X, has announced Rainbow Moon, an upcoming Strategy RPG that features a 30 hour main campaign that can be extended to even further with tons of side quests and exploration.

As you’re well aware, our fearless leader will be running one of the toughest 10k obstacle courses in the country. Not only that, but he’ll be doing it all for charity. So far we’ve managed to raise a little more than £200 for GamesAid, PS3 Attitude’s charity of choice. We know we can do better than that, though. Halloween may have come and gone, but inFamous: Festival of Blood is still available on the PlayStation Store for those who haven’t yet had their fill of macabre antics for this year. Originally announced at Gamescom in August, Festival of Blood is a bite-size title in the inFamous series.
This standalone adventure offers a tongue-in-cheek take on the inFamous universe. The game opens with Zeke attempting to impress a woman at a bar, by telling her an elaborate (and completely made-up) story about one of his and Cole’s exploits.
In conjunction with the release of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Naughty Dog is availing the entire Crash Bandicoot catalog to PS+ users for free.
Other highlights include the commencement of DCUO free to play, Hydrophobia Prophecy and downloadable content for both Batman: Arkham City and the aforementioned Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
BAFTA Games last week hosted a Game Writers Panel in London, during which experienced writers Edward Stern (Brink), Rhianna Pratchett (Mirror’s Edge) and James Swallow (Deus Ex: Human Revolution) covered a variety of topics on the subject of narrative design.
