Help support GamesAid and win awesome prizes – ends 16 December
As you’re well aware, our fearless leader will be running one of the toughest 10k obstacle courses in the country. Not only that, but he’ll be doing it all for charity. So far we’ve managed to raise a little more than £200 for GamesAid, PS3 Attitude’s charity of choice. We know we can do better than that, though. So, how about a little incentive to encourage donations?
We’ve scoured through the PS3 Attitude offices and contacted our loyal developer friends and have gathered up some awesome prizes that include video games, t-shirts, download codes, and a whole lot more.
Here’s what we have gathered so far and what you have to do for your chance to win…
Entering to win a prize is simple. Just go to DolphGB’s donation page and leave a donation of at least £5. Be sure to leave your full name when leaving a donation too, so we know who to contact. For every £5 that you donate, that will count as a single entry into the competition. The more you donate the more entries you receive and the better chances you have at winning a prize.
At the end of the entry period, we’ll randomly draw names from all eligible entries, starting with the larger prizes and working our way down the list. There is a maximum of two prizes per person so as to offer a fair chance for everyone. The contest is open to everyone, so long as we are allowed to legally to ship to your address from the US and UK.
We will take entries up until race day, which is November 12th, so hurry and get those donations in. Don’t worry if you’ve already donated as you’re already good to go.
We’ve decided to extend the donation deadline a month until December 16th! More prizes are still flowing in from charitable donors, and we also want to give a post-race update to the readers on how well DolphGB finished (we expect him to place in the Top 3). As always, stay tuned to this posts and all others regarding the fundraiser as we will continue to update it with more prizes and details. Thanks for your continued support!
Here are the prizes we’ll be offering. We will update the list as more prizes come in. Best of luck to you!
Street Fighter X Tekken Signed Poster
This Street Fighter X Tekken poster is signed by both producers, Ono from Street Fighter and Harada from Tekken, and was obtained on PS3 Attitude’s trip to E3 this year. The poster is approximately 28 cm x 43 cm. Ono signed right on Kazuya’s fist while Harada signed on Ryu’s leg, complete with what looks to be a Heihachi caricature. Seeing as not too many of these exist, it’s definitely a must have for any fighting game fan!
RAGE game sleeves signed by id Software Creative Director Tim Willits
id Software, the developers behind Doom and most recently Rage, have kindly donated three RAGE game covers, signed by the creative director, Tim Willits. Reminder, this is just the slip cover and not the game itself. If you already own the game, intend to buy the game, or just want a cool piece of art, this is your must-have piece.
Mad Catz Street Fighter X Tekken FightStick
When it comes to the fighting genre, nobody makes better fightsticks than Mad Catz. If you’re at all serious about going pro, then these are the fightsticks you need to own. The Street Fighter X Tekken stick is the latest in the line from Mad Catz and features a new redesign over previous versions, but still retains the care and quality we’ve come to expect. If you want the arcade experience at home, this is what you need.
X-Men: Destiny and Spider-Man: Edge of Time
Activision has graciously provided us with three copies each of X-Men: Destiny and Spider-Man: Edge of Time on the PS3. If you’re in the mood for some Marvel superhero action, the X-Men and Spider-Man have you covered.
Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon
While bugs are creepy in their own right, giant bugs bent on taking over the Earth are even creepier. Our very own Seanoc has kindly donated a copy of Earth Defense Force Armageddon to one lucky winner. Better get out the bug spay as this once could be messy!
Okabu on PSN
From Capcom, we have four PSN codes (two NA, two EU) for the delightful downloadable title Okabu. This recently launched title lets you and a friend take control of two cloud-whale brothers and save the planet from the evildoers who are poisoning the planet. The game features a platinum trophy, two player couch co-op, four expansive worlds, online leaderboards and four unique minigames.
Zen Studio’s Pinball Bundle
If there’s any pinball game you should own on the PS3, it’s Zen Pinball. Scratch that, it’s Marvel Pinball. You know what, we’ll let you decide. Zen Studio’s has provided us with a bundle of all their pinball games that includes: Zen Pinball and the Sorcerer’s Lair DLC along with Marvel Pinball and its DLC consisting of the Fantastic Four and Captain America tables.
Collection of Import Titles from MonkeyPaw Games
MonkeyPaw Games have been busy importing classic Japanese only video games to North American, and now most recently European, PSN Stores. They’ve taken the time out of their schedule to provide us with codes for a few of their import titles. For the US, we have codes for Arc the Lad, Alundra, and GaiaSeed. For Europe, we have codes for Sonic Wings Special, Shienryu, and Cho Aniki.
Hydrophobia: Prophecy Vouchers
Dark Energy Digital has provided PS3 Attitude with three EU PSN vouchers for their latest downloadable title, Hydrophobia: Prophecy. Essentially an updated version of last years Xbox LIVE title, the game features all new levels, mechanics, and PlayStation Move support. Be sure to check out our review of Prophecy as well.
Disgaea 4 Premium Figures, OST and Prinny Plush
The wonderful folks at NIS America have donated a complete nine box set of Disgaea 4 figures which includes Val, Desco, Emizel, Vulcanus, Fallen Angel Flonee, Archangel Flonne, Prinny, Fenrich, and Axel. They’ve also thrown in the official soundtrack to Disgaea 4 and a plush Prinny doll you can cuddle up to. These are some pretty sweet prizes if you ask us, dood!
Journey t-shirts and Flower posters
Here at PS3 Attitude, we’re great fans of thatgamecompany. Flower took the highest honor in our countdown of the top 20 PSN titles and Journey is sure to impress. What better way to show your appreciation than by wearing a Journey t-shirt or hanging a Flower poster on your wall? thatgamecompany has provided us with three of each.
Insert Coin Tees
When it comes to video game fashion, nobody does game themed t-shirts better than Insert Coin Clothing. Not only do they have comfortable clothes but the shirts are fashionable with their subtle game references. Insert Coin has donated three t-shirts for the cause; Atlantean Scion (inspired by Tomb Raider), Obedience. Duty. Loyalty. (inspired by Killzone 2), and Calber’s Ketchup (inspired by Metal Gear Solid).
Once again, Seanoc has donated a RAGE t-shirt to one lucky winner. This (hopefully) unworn shirt will be all the rage with your friends, no doubt. [seanoc: yes, it is unworn!]
Rugby World Cup 2011
We have a copy of Rugby World Cup 2011, which was kindly donated by 505 Games. The Rugby World Cup may be over but that doesn’t mean you can’t revisit the tournament and right the wrongs in the virtual world. Sweaty men, with thighs like tree trunks, chasing an egg-shaped ball: what’s not to love?
Toki Tori PSN Vouchers
Two Tribes has graciously provided us with five EU vouchers to download their popular puzzle platformer, Toki Tori, which hits the PSN next week. With updated HD graphics, new levels, 3D and PlayStation Move support, this is the definitive version of the game.
