The Amazing Spider-Man swings into action this summer
The Amazing Spider-Man, the video game based on the upcoming film by the same name starring Andrew Garfield, has officially been confirmed by developers Beenox and Activision and will show off its debut trailer at the 2011 Spike TV Video Game Awards.
It’s been no surprise that this game has been in the works. First there was the giant banner at New York Comic-Con and then there was leaked footage from the Marvel games panel showcasing some of the gameplay.
The Amazing Spider-Man will act as an epilogue to the upcoming film and takes place in New York as you web swing and crawl around the city protecting citizens from numerous criminals and villains. The game will mark the return of an open, free-roaming world that we’ve seen in the early Spider-Man games, along with new improvements to navigation and combat such as the Web Rush mechanic.
Beenox, the team behind Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Spider-Man: Edge of Time, returns as its developer. Hollywood writer Seamus Kevin Fahey has been credited as for creating the game’s original narrative.
The world debut trailer of The Amazing Spider-Man will premiere at this Saturday’s Spike TV Video Game Awards. For now, you can get a taste of what to expect in this brief teaser trailer. You can also check out the game’s official website too.
