SSX gameplay trailer goes tricky
Check out EA’s new Tricky gameplay trailer for SSX. It has Melon grabs, Switch Indy grabs, Seatbelt grabs and other types of grabs – basically, it shows more grabs than we can realistically get a grip of.
It should also kill off any of the lingering doubts from long-time fans that the new SSX won’t have the same carefree spirit of previous games. It’s not quite as colourful as Tricky (remember those days?), but it certainly has the tricks.
Good SSX gameplay requires the player to build up their multiplier by chaining moves, knowing where the lift off points are and also knowing when to take advantage of the boost. It also requires perfect balance on landing. It’s a delicate balance, but there is at least a rewind features for those times when you mess up. It will cost you some points though.
Get the Tricky state and you’ll be rewarded with the bouncing beats of Run-DMC’s Tricky anthem – remixed by Colorado artist Pretty Lights.
We’ve enjoyed what we’ve played so far of SSX. The gameplay is silky smooth and we can’t wait to sample the finished product in February – which, while we’re mentioning it, is shaping up to be a very busy month.
