Call of Duty dropping on PS Vita this autumn

Submitted by on Saturday, 18 February 20122 Comments

We’re sure it’s not the grand announcement Activision planned – although, they’re no doubt used to that by now – but Sony has confirmed that a portable version of Call of Duty will be arriving on PS Vita this autumn.

The news came from Guy Longworth during an interview with GameTrailers, The senior vice president, marketing and PlayStation Network, slipped in the news as though it was common knowledge, saying his teenage boys were looking forward to it.

Call of Duty for PS Vita was announced around the same time as the system, but we’ve otherwise heard very little since. We still don’t know what type of game to expect, whether it’ll be a brand new game or a port of an older one. It could tie in with the next Call of Duty, which is almost certain to be Black Ops 2.

No matter what form it takes, Call of Duty is definitely a “game changer”, as Longworth says.
