Dishonored – debut trailer
Assassinating persons of considerable influence, stopping time, traversing rooftops, sword fighting. These are some of the things you’ll find in the debut trailer for Dishonored, a dystopian first-person shooter from Bethesda and Arkane Studios.
Give the trailer a look to find out why Dishonored is one of the industry’s most anticipated new franchises.
As a newly disgraced (or rather dishonored) former bodyguard of the recently murdered Empress, we find our protagonist Corvo alone with his thoughts in a damp, dim prison cell. Sentenced to an unjust death, Corvo is approached by a dark figure who offers unearthly powers and a chance for revenge in lieu of capital punishment.
Corvo demands answers and a special kind of revenge. The kind where you kill everyone who’s wronged you.
“Revenge Solves Everything”
Viktor Antonov, art director of Half-Life 2, constructs a world where cobble stone roads and knickers are juxtaposed with futuristic neo-industrial machines. A class war is boiling over between the haves and have-nots who seem to be separated by centuries technologically although they inhabit the same city.
Gameplay wise, Dishonored is purported to be similar to that of Deus Ex, giving players multiple avenues with which to complete a given objective. Supernatural powers and honed stealth abilities provide an abundance of improvising opportunities. Varying approaches will inevitably bear unique outcomes.
No specific release date has been set despite a 2012 release window. As always, let us know what you think of the trailer and don’t forget to click through the gallery below.
