Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch debut English trailer
LEVEL-5’s Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a title which lies somewhere in the periphery of most gamers most anticipated lists. Due in large part to the J-RPG’s seemingly requisite obscure title and yet more atypical narrative.
However fans able to look past the game’s inherent eccentricities will find some of the most eye-pleasing visuals the PS3 has produced to date. Have a look for yourself.
Although western gamers may be unfamiliar with Ni no Kuni, it is a game that comes with plenty of pedigree. Developer, LEVEL-5, most notably known for the Dark Cloud and Professor Layton series, represents one of the most respected and revered Japanese studios. For Ni no Kuni they’ve joined forces with an equally esteemed animation studio in Studio Ghibli.
The game follows the trials of a young boy named Oliver who has recently lost his mother. As he grieves over her death his seemingly inanimate companion comes to life unveiling a parallel universe and a chance to be reunited with his mother.
Previously released in Japan late last year, English speaking fans have been waiting patiently for Ni No Kuni’s western release. Unfortunately the game was pushed back to Q1 2013 this past week. No matter, 2012’s loss is 2013’s gain.
