Paint Park, Treasure Park and Wake Up Club – free new apps for PS Vita

Submitted by on Wednesday, 18 April 2012One Comment

Sony is keeping good to its promise to deliver more apps for PS Vita. The company announced that three new apps are on the way, one of which is available this week to download in US and EU stores. The three apps are called Paint Park, Treasure Park and Wake Up Club.

Paint Park (available to download now) turns your screen into a sketch pad. You can freely doodle before sharing your creations with your mates. You can even use the front and rear camera to incorporate pictures into your sketch – you know, if you want to put some horns on your head or something. Alternatively, you can compete with up to five friends in online multiplayer via Ad Hoc mode.

Coming this summer is Treasure Park, an app that lets you connect with other PS Vita owners over 3G or Wi-Fi to create and tackle user-made puzzles. The app will work alongside Near.

Wake-Up Club is possibly the oddest of the bunch. This expands on the “PS Vita Alarm Clock by allowing you to sync up with other PS Vita owners who set their alarm for the same time”. The app appears to give you a score based on how quickly you wake up. Maybe this will make those 6am starts easier.

These aren’t exactly top of everyone’s wish list – not quite in the same league as a G+, Skype, YouTube or RRS app – but they do look fun and they’re free. Do we have any talented sketchers in our midst?
