Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 official announcement
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has officially been announced worldwide on the Call of Duty website.
Set in 2025, the reveal trailer depicts a near future war with near future technology and near future hovering airplanes. This may be considerably out of reach by current aircraft design, although the quadrotor, or quadricopter, is currently available for iOS and Android devices. Is this the future of warfare?
Previously, the reveal was supposed to be top secret to the world. That was before a Target employee shared a photo of a stack of pre-order cards with IGN, and images leaked thought to be the ones awaiting an official reveal. Since then, details have slowly been leaked leading up to tonight’s trailer reveal.
Sales for Treyarch’s previous award winning Call of Duty titles have more than surpassed the $1 billion mark. Players of Call of Duty: Black Ops alone have downloaded an excess of 18 million map packs. To say that Black Ops 2 will do well is a gross understatement.
