From NetherRealm Studios, the creators of Mortal Kombat, comes their next one-on-one fighting game featuring the heroes and villains of DC Comics. Injustice: Gods Among Us brings together Batman, Superman and many others in an all out brawl that’ll leave the world in rubble.

Following the success of 2011’s Mortal Kombat, NetherRealm Studios teamed up with the same folks who brought us Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe for a new solo venture for our comic book heroes and villains. As detailed by Gamespot, Injustice: Gods Among Us will feature at least 28 playable characters including Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman, The Flash, Solomon Grundy, and Harley Quinn battling it out in fully destructible environments within the DC Universe.

Batman, for instance will be able to send opponents flying through entire buildings. Wonder Woman can smash you with a car. Meanwhile, Superman will send you to outer space with one of his uppercuts. If you ever wanted to know who would win in a fight between Batman and Superman, Injustice will settle the dispute once and for all.

“We can’t wait to reveal Injustice: Gods Among Us because it will give our fans and gamers an epic experience as they battle like gods as their favorite DC Comics villains and heroes,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios.  “Our team is excited to make a fighting game that is filled with fast-paced action, incredible story-telling and iconic DC Comics characters.”

Injustice: Gods Among Us is currently slated for a 2013 release on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. With a character roster said to be at least as large as Mortal Kombat, what DC superheroes and villains do you think should be in the game? Let us know in the comments!
