DmC release date announced with new details on Kat

DmC – Devil May Cry, the next instalment in the hugely popular Devil May Cry franchise, will see a simultaneous release in Europe and North America for PlayStation 3 on 15 January 2013.

Critically acclaimed developer Ninja Theory, creators of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and Heavenly Sword, are currently working on it in close collaboration with Capcom.

The game will focus on Dante in his more rebellious teenage years and is set against a contemporary backdrop, but one which still features the slick, stylish action and fluidity that helped define the popularity of the series along with the cocky, self-assured protagonist that we’ve all come to love, albeit with a new, controversial design.

Capcom and Ninja Theory have wasted no time in making the game available to the majority of people by having voice actors to cover the English, French, German, Spanish and Italian languages, whilst having localised text support for Dutch, Polish, Russian, Portuguese and Brazilian languages.

Following the news of the confirmed release date are new details on Kat, Dante’s guide on his mission through Limbo, the demon realm.

Although Kat may look like an innocent girl, she has experienced many terrible things (as shown above) and specializes in knowledge about the demon realm, as she is a gifted psychic who can look in to it, acting as The Order’s eyes and ears as she is set a mission to gather intelligence from the realm.

The game will be featured at E3 at Capcom’s booth, and if you ask me, it will be one to keep an eye on in the steadily growing number of releases in the first quarter of 2013 and at E3.
