Jet Set Radio heading for PS Vita
The old school Dreamcast favourite, Jet Set Radio, is coming to PS Vita. A PS3 version was announced back in February, but SEGA can now confirm that there will also be a handheld version with additional features.
The game is getting an HD makeover, but it will still feature the original funky soundtrack that drew players towards the game in the first place back in 2000. The handheld version will also make good use of Vita’s touch screen by allowing you to spray graffiti with your finger.
The Vita version will also use the camera. although we’re not sure how; one possibility is that it could allow you to print your graffiti on walls in the real world, similar to ‘T@g‘, the yet unreleased augmented reality game.
SEGA’s Senior Vice President of Digital Business, Haruki Satomi, was unsurprisingly ecstatic in the press notes:
“The fan reaction to our recent reveal of Jet Set Radio has been incredible! As Jet Set Radio is focused on creativity, the touch capabilities of the PlayStation Vita are proving to be a perfect fit.”
We have no solid release date but SEGA has confirmed that it will come out this summer. The game will be on show at E3, if you’re lucky enough to be going, but to tide you over in the meantime, have a look at the fantastic Vita screenshots below.
