Sniper Elite V2 rises to the top of the UK charts
Sniper Elite V2 has risen to the top of the UK charts, debuting in at number one in the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 charts. It seems gamers can’t resist gory kill-cams, opportunities to take on Hitler and tense sniping gameplay.
Rebellion’s sequel to the popular PS2 title Sniper Elite places you in war-torn Berlin, during the Second World War. It’s goal is to create a realistic, tense experience with advanced ballistics that take into account gravity, wind, velocity, etc. It’s also disgustingly detailed.
Sniper Elite V2 takes the top spot from Prototype 2, which now sits in second place after debuting in at number one last week. Some analysts expected Prototype 2 to be a complete flop and fail to reach 500,000 in the US. Cowen and Company said Prototype 2 would ”struggle” to reach 500,000 units sold in the US in its first year. We don’t have the US sales numbers or a breakdown of the UK figures, but it looks like Prototype 2 may exceed those expections in Blighty at least.
