LB2 X360 Screen003 Wave2.5 LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes drops in retail and the PlayStation Store today for PS3 and VitaLEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes easily offers the largest scale levels in a LEGO game. Designed by the well known brick building gaming developer Traveller’s Tales Games, we are looking forward to getting our glove-covered hands on so many amazing DC heroes and villains, and flailing them around the open world environments.

Fasten your utility and cue the epic horn section for LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes official release beginning today in the North American PlayStation Store update and all over the world in retail.

While we may only be reporting on the PlayStation versions, LEGO games are notorious for releasing on every current console, handheld, and computer platform available. Its this blanketed exposure that would make Paul Reuben raise an eyebrow.

You’ll notice the characters talking again in the trailer below, generously uploaded by the fine men at the PlayStation Blog. And though TT Games didn’t get Mark Hamill to do the voice of the Joker, all the dialogue is said to enhance rather than take away the experience.

Tom Stone, managing director of TT Games, pitches the game to our children by saying the following:

Fans of all ages are in for a real comical treat with LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, as the game brings iconic DC Comics characters to life in a brand new story set in a massive open-world Gotham City. The game delivers a fun-filled LEGO adventure never seen before with talking LEGO minifigures and unique elements such as flying through Gotham City as Superman.

LEGO merchandise has been available for sometime and was responsible for initial speculation of LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes coming as the next LEGO video game. Now that its here we can all breathe a sigh of relief as we choose our characters. Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash are just a few of them. As we mentioned with LEGO Lord of the Rings, there is typically about 100 characters in a LEGO video game.

Take a look at the gallery below to swoop on some gorgeous Vita screenshots. Yes, I just used the word “gorgeous” and yes, that’s LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes running in full swing on the PS Vita!
