PS3A PlayTime – week of 11 June, 2012

Submitted by on Tuesday, 19 June 20123 Comments

The PS3 Attitude team is always hard at work writing the fabulous posts you enjoy reading so much. So how do we find the time to play the games we love? We do find time, we must. But wouldn’t you rather find out what we’ve been playing?

Vita dominated the week with new releases in Gravity Rush and Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection. Both games are available on Vita game cards or downloadable from the PlayStation Store.

Motorstorm RC received an update, Escape Plan DLC launched at $0.25 for a limited time, and Pinball Arcade received two amazing new pinball tables for $5.

Each week the PS3 Attitude writing staff has been asked to answer three simple questions, but we would love to hear your answers as well. Keep us informed in the comments section that follows.

  1. What games have you been playing this week?
  2. Did you accomplish something cool?
  3. What are you watching or reading?

What I’m playing: Still mostly playing FIFA Football on the Vita when I get a spare ten minutes, but that’s going to change after picking up Unit 13 and Gravity Rush.

Accomplishments: I finally managed to score a goal directly from the half-way line at kick-off. I’ve never been prouder.

What I’m watching and reading: I haven’t had much time for watching or reading in the last week, but when I’ve had a spare few minutes I’ve caught up on back-episodes of The Soup – easily one of my favourite shows on TV.

What I’m playing: PixelJunk 4am, Everybody’s Golf Vita, a certain Vita beta, Sniper Elite V2.

Accomplishments: This week has been less about gaming and more about upgrading. A crazy amount of PS+ content has encouraged me to upgrade my HDD from 80GB to 1TB.

What I’m watching and reading: Watched Perfume: The Story of a Murderer. Possibly the most nasal gazing ever in a film.

What I’m playing: Max Payne 3, Dragon Age: Origins, Lollipop Chainsaw.

Accomplishments: This week I discovered that Max Payne 3’s story is actually bloody good fun, continued chasing the Dragon Age: Origins platinum, and killed literally thousands of zombies in Lollipop Chainsaw (review very soon).

What I’m watching and reading: Not much to report this week – it’s been gaming all the way!

What I’m playing: I’ve spent every gaming moment with either Just Cause 2 or The Walking Dead. Two incredibly crafted, story-heavy character pieces. One tests the moral fortitude of players with a gauntlet of quandaries and split-second decisions, while the other stars a guy named Rico.

Accomplishments: Accidentally blew myself up as I tried to fly my helicopter off of the skyscraper I was destroying before the fuse expired. I’ll let you guess which game that was.

What I’m watching and reading: Right now I’m reading The Deputy and I’m also very much invested (perhaps even financially) in the NBA finals. Let’s go Thunder.

What I’m playing: Played the new pinball tables in Pinball Arcade and worked on some Challenge Tower in Mortal Kombat Vita. I started playing through Assassin’s Creed II and Ghost Busters for the first time.

Accomplishments: Just started a lot of good games I’ve been meaning to get through. Tried to play Battlefield 3 over the weekend for double XP and got kicked out by the admin after killing him in-game four times in a row!

What I’m watching and reading: Watched nearly 7 episodes of Prison Break in a row one night. Almost done with season 2. Took a break from reading this week.

What I’m playing: FIFA Demo on Vita, MK on Vita and attempted to play Demon Souls again but found out that I have no patience and no time do die as much as I did.

Accomplishments: Played a couple online matches on MK Vita, my Raiden is still a force to be reckoned with.

What I’m watching and reading: I watched a old school movie called Willie Dynamite, this post will totally show my age.
