Retro RPG Rainbow Moon releases exclusively on PSN next week
Rainbow Moon is an ismometric RPG from SideQuest Studios, the team behind the devilishly difficult Söldner-X shoot ‘em ups.
Publisher eastasiasoft has just released two dev diaries for the game, in preparation for its exclusive release on the PlayStation Store next week.
Don’t be fooled by its PSN label though; Rainbow Moon is a fully-fledged RPG, with a 40-hour story, dozens of side quests, and a complete trophy list (which includes a platinum). Check out the new footage below to see the game in action for yourself.
The first thing to note about Rainbow Moon is that it looks absolutely beautiful. SideQuest Studios are based in Germany, but the studio clearly has a deep affinity with the JRPG genre, seen in the game’s bright art style, razor sharp presentation and complex combat system.
Rainbow Moon releases on 4th July in Europe for €12.99/£9.99, and on 10th July in North America for $14.99. Additionally, PS+ subscribers can take advantage of a 20% discount in both territories. We’ve also heard intriguing rumours that suggest a PS Vita version may be on the way too…
