Gran Turismo 5 Academy Edition racing to PS3 this Autumn

Sony have announced that a new edition of the brilliant racing sim Gran Turismo 5 will be racing to PS3 later this Autumn to celebrate the successful collaboration with Nissan on the popular GT Academy programme.

Called the Academy Edition, it will include all of the downloadable content currently on the PlayStation Store as well as new features.

GTA 3 and War of the Monsters PS2 classics coming to NA PS3s

ESRB ratings were reported about a month ago for Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City Stories for PS3 delivery. Now, the US PlayStation Blogcast crew has confirmed at least that GTA 3 is coming next Tuesday. They also confirmed War of the Monsters will also be downloadable when the Tuesday, 31 July update hits the NA PlayStation Store. Care for some old school slaying; do you prefer humans or monsters?

5 gaming heroes that could win Olympic gold

With the dazzling opening ceremony last Friday, there was only one theme we could choose for this week’s article: the Olympics! Specifically, we’ve been discussing some of the biggest heroes on PS3, and which sports they would dominate in at the London Games. Platformer Knytt Underground coming soon to PS3 and Vita

Indie game franchise Knytt is coming later this year to the PS3 and PS Vita thanks to a partnership between the developer Nifflas, the production company Green Hill, and Ripstone Publishing.

Knytt Underground is the sequel to the PC platformers Knytt and Knytt Stories, which have boasted more than one million downloads globally. Both Green Hill and Nifflas will be handling the development of the new game, and Ripstone Publishing will be working on bringing the indie title to a wider audience.

We are well into the second half of 2012 and feel the need to look back on some of the best releases the first two quarters of 2012 had. The year is usually so heavily packed with AAA releases during the holiday months that it’s easy to forget about the gems that came before them.

An overperforming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has helped Ubisoft to post improved sales figures for the last fiscal quarter, which ended on 30 June.

Sales during the quarter came in at €131m, up 27.2% compared with the €103m recorded for the same period last year.

Hot on the heels of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle reveal comes the announcement of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD.

It was originally released in the arcades in 1998 before an updated version arrived on the PSone in 1999; the 2D figther got up to its not-so-normal antics again in 2000, this time on the Dreamcast.
