NCAA Football 13 launches today
The third best sport on the planet (behind soccer and curling) has its digital doppelganger coming out today. NCAA Football 13 from EA Sports makes its annual return to the gridiron looking to fix a few errors and add some new features to the mix for veteran players.
This year EA has added “The Heisman Challenge Mode” that lets you pick one of the former Heisman winners like Barry Sanders or Desmond Howard and place them on your favorite college team. I think this will add a bunch of cool gameplay options for football history buffs. Being able to relive some of the great moments of yesteryear always seem to be a hit with fans. Alongside this mode comes another new feature called “Reaction Time”. This gives players new ways to shred defenses by allowing them to slow down time for a couple of seconds and look for holes on the defensive line and secondary. This sounds pretty awesome too; who wouldn’t want their running back to become Neo for a moment or two?
These new features plus a revamped physics-based engine, all new ESPN integration and a robust online community might make this the best NCAA game yet. Let’s hope it’s as good as it sounds.
