PS3A PlayTime – week of 16 July, 2012

Submitted by on Tuesday, 24 July 2012No Comment

Writing about games and playing games are a couple of the things that we do best. So why not share with you a little bit about the games that we have found the time to play in our precious schedules.

Its a post-Dyad week for the US, while Europe awaits Shawn McGrath’s masterful attempt to drain our brain through our eyes. Its an extremely visceral experience that one must experience entirely on their own before hearing what someone else has to say. Having said that, here’s our review of Dyad. New content may have been on the shallow end of the spectrum, but this week will prove that the Vita is still very much alive and kicking.

These are the three simple questions that the PS3 Attitude writing staff has been asked to answer. But we want to hear your answers as well. Keep us informed in the comments section at the bottom of the post.

  1. What games have you been playing this week?
  2. Did you accomplish something cool?
  3. What are you watching or reading?

What I’m playing: I’ve only played Everybody’s Golf on the Vita this week. Continuing to do the Daily Int’l Challenges, but otherwise progressing through the Career mode. On the Silver courses now, and they’re beginning to get hard!

Accomplishments: Nothing of great note. I am still yet to manage a super-spin pin shot, but I keep trying!

What I’m watching and reading: Saw The Dark Knight Rises and concur with Majiesto. Everyone should go see it.

What I’m playing: Dragon Age II in the first half of the week, a bunch of Vita games in the second.

Accomplishments:  I finally got around to buying a Vita (for only £169.99 – bargain!), so have been catching up on what I’ve missed. A memorable moment was when, buoyed by my success in WipEout 2048’s singleplayer campaign, I thought I’d try my luck online… and promptly lost my first race. I think a little more practice may be in order!

What I’m watching and reading: To be honest, I’ve been too obsessed with the Vita to do anything else!

What I’m playing: Haven’t actually had any time to play anything this week. Did manage to pick up Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, though.

Accomplishments: See above.

What I’m watching and reading: Saw The Dark Knight Rises…twice! Everyone go see this movie!

What I’m playing: I took a break from Treasures on Vita this week and played a lot of Assassin’s Creed II. Picked up Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition for Vita while it was on sale on the US PS Store. Finally, we get some Vita PS Plus deals!

Accomplishments: I managed to obtain a healthy dose of trophies thanks to Assassin’s Creed II. I really did enjoy laying waste to two enemies at once with Ezio’s dual hidden blades.

What I’m watching and reading: I caught up on some new/old releases such as the new Conan, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and Immortals. I also squeezed in some Transporter 3 featuring one of my favorite actors and personal role model, Jason Stathom. Okay, now you know a bit too much about me.

What I’m playing: Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 offline, Treasures of the Montezuma Blitz. Haven’t played as much recently but I plan to play more soon!

Accomplishments: Still at the top of my friends list on Blitz, so addictive.

What I’m watching and reading: I saw The Dark Knight Rises which was brilliant, but I personally preferred Spider-Man and The Avengers. Also watched The Adjustment Bureau which was a great watch, too.
