playtime PS3A PlayTime week of 2 July, 2012Team PS3 Attitude is always diligent in writing the magical posts you enjoy reading so much. And while everyone is working hard, everyone tries to play equally as hard. Read on to find out what we’ve been playing this past week?trans PS3A PlayTime week of 2 July, 2012trans PS3A PlayTime week of 2 July, 2012

The US celebrated the 4th of July with fireworks and drunken displays of violence, likely involving even more fireworks. The US and EU PlayStation Stores played host to several holiday inspired discounts from the likes of Sega, Atlas, and Activision.

PS Plus subscribers received three free games in Gotham City Impostors, Pac-Man DX Championship Edition, and Renegade Ops as well as a decent dose of digital download discounts delved out in delectable dollops. Did any of these releases really trump Spec Ops: The Line?

Each week the PS3 Attitude writing staff has been asked to answer three simple questions, but we would love to hear your answers as well. Keep us informed in the comments section that follows.

  1. What games have you been playing this week?
  2. Did you accomplish something cool?
  3. What are you watching or reading?

What I’m playing: I’ve been mostly playing Unit 13 again, but did pick up a cheap copy of Everybody’s Golf on the Vita so played a few rounds of that too. Looking forward to some online battles with my compatriots soon…ZZZZZ

Accomplishments: Unit 13′s solo challenges are now starting to get a little difficult. One in particular really kicked my backside this week, but after a dozens replays I finally bested it. Haven’t even started playing online yet or doing the daily challenges – there’s still so much to explore in the solo campaign!

What I’m watching and reading: Haven’t spent much time watching or reading anything this week, but did get my weekly dose of The Soup – easily one of my favourite TV shows ever, and always cheers me up.

What I’m playing: LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (PS Vita), Shift 2, inFamous 2, Virtua Fighter 5, Chime Super Deluxe, Darksiders, Everybody’s Golf, Treasures of Montezuma, WipEout 2048. All singleplayer.

Accomplishments: Spent longer than expected trying to cover the level with sound in Chime Super Deluxe. Failed.

What I’m watching and reading: Watched the dreadful Repo Men and continued the Lost run. Now into the final straight.

What I’m playing: Lollipop Chainsaw, Rainbow Moon, The Ratchet & Clank Trilogy.

Accomplishments: Been busy playing Rainbow Moon and The Ratchet & Clank Trilogy (reviews for both coming this week), and somehow even managed to find the time to 100% Lollipop Chainsaw.

What I’m watching and reading: Finished reading The Subtle Knife and watched a lot of Wimbledon – unlucky, Murray!

What I’m playing: Been playing Spec Ops: The Line mostly all week. Played the single player campaign and only a little bit of the multiplayer.

Accomplishments: Finished the campaign for Spec Ops and absolutely loved it. It’s without a doubt one of my favorite war shooters this generation.

What I’m watching and reading: Picked up the six-disc Alien Anthology Blu-ray box set so have been getting my fair share of Xenomorphs and Sigourney Weaver.

What I’m playing: While camping in the mountains of California during 4th of July week I covered a lot of ground in LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7. Yeah, that’s how a gamer camps! I also managed to squeeze in as much Treasures of Montezuma Blitz as possible after finally receiving the trophy patch that doesn’t even sync the trophies to PSN.

Accomplishments: Finally unlocked all the score multipliers in LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7. Money is no longer an issue. Acquired a score of 2.34 billion on the Theatre of Magic table in Pinball Arcade only to be challenged by Jeff Rubenstein of the US PlayStation Blog and his score of 3.6 billion. Don’t worry, challenge has been accepted.

What I’m watching and reading: Completed Prison  Break season 3, read the PS3 Attitude review for Prison Break: The Conspiracy the game. Now watching season 4.

What I’m playing: The Walking Dead, Mortal Kombat and Spec Ops: The Line.

Accomplishments: Spec Ops is getting pretty interesting, just hoping it pays off in the end.

What I’m watching and reading: Started reading “Ready Player One.” Not bad so far.

What I’m playing: Ratchet and Clank HD Collection, Devil May Cry 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 offline, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles HD, Operation Raccoon City online, Portal 2 co-op online and Mass Effect 3 offline.

Accomplishments: That moment when you think you’ve had a scientific breakthrough on Portal 2 then fall in to acid. Good times.

What I’m watching and reading: Watched Zombieland with my girlfriend on Blu-ray, enjoyed it more than I did the first time I watched it and I remember thinking it was great before! Old cartoon intros such as Pokemon, Digimon and Sailor Moon because we’re so cool.
