PS3A PlayTime – week of 23 July, 2012

Submitted by on Monday, 30 July 2012One Comment

Writing about games and playing games are a couple of the things that we here at PS3 Attitude do best. So why not share with you a little bit about the games that we have found the time to play amidst our busy summer schedules.

While closing out July with this week’s “PS3A PlayTime”, we reflect back on what games trended well with the team. Starting with a heavy dose of The Walking Dead Episode 2. Some other favorite PS3 games have included LEGO Batman 2, Ratchet & Clank Trilogy, Dyad, Spec Ops: The Line, and Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection.

Since the writers at PS3 Attitude actually play their Vitas, lets run through the games we’ve enjoyed most. Its safe to say that Treasures of Montezuma Blitz has fared well with us, with weekly tournaments serving up plenty of replay motivation. More Vita favorites this month include Mortal Kombat, Everybody’s Golf (Hot Shots in the US), Unit 13, and Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition.

Here are the three simple questions the PS3 Attitude writing staff has been asked to answer. Though, we want to hear your answers as well. Keep us informed in the comments section at the bottom of the post.

  1. What games have you been playing this week?
  2. Did you accomplish something cool?
  3. What are you watching or reading?

What I’m playing: I still only have eyes for Everybody’s Golf on the Vita.

Accomplishments: Enjoying the new Daily International Tournament format. They’ve done away with the ‘three rounds a day’ mode, and gone with one daily tournament that sees a weekly winner based on most points across 6 days of golf. Smart move…

What I’m watching and reading: It is a very special time here in the UK, so we’ve been glued to the Olympics. I’m went to Wembley on Sunday to see Team GB play football.

What I’m playing: Lots of PS Vita games, including Mortal Kombat, Rayman Origins and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

Accomplishments:  I also made the unfortunate mistake of finally downloading Treasures of Montezuma Blitz, and now I can’t stop playing it (although I’m yet to actually spend any money)!

What I’m watching and reading: I was blown away by Danny Boyle’s vision in the Opening Ceremony, and the Olympics is pretty much all I’ve watched since.

What I’m playing: Pac-Man Championship Edition DX and Marvel Pinball.

Accomplishments: Practicing my flipper skills on Marvel Pinball for it’s (hopefully soon) release on the Vita.

What I’m watching and reading: Watched a little bit of the Olympics. Am also re-watching Heroes. Missed the last two seasons so I’m intrigued to finish the series.

What I’m playing: I’ve managed to play quite a bit this week. Foosball 2012 (PS3/Vita), Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (Vita), Hot Shots Golf (Vita), Virtua Tennis 4 (Vita), Assassin’s Creed II, and ToMB.

Accomplishments: My biggest accomplishments this week was were with Treasures of Montezuma Blitz; sweeping the weekly tournaments amongst my friends this week with over 7 Million points and taken home the gold. Then again taking the first place spot in the following weeks tournament without using a single powerup, over 6M points!

What I’m watching and reading: Trying desperately to wrap up Prison Break season 4 so I can be done with it. Kind of numb to the show now that they aren’t breaking out of any prisons what-so-ever.

What I’m playing: The Amazing Spider-Man and Saints Row 3 offline. About to start L.A Noire, Vanquish, Quantum Conundrum and spend some time with the LittleBigPlanet Karting beta!

Accomplishments: Saints Row 3 gets really annoying at parts so I’d say not destroying the disc is an achievement. 😛

Though I did, ashamed to say, rage quit on it and that’s something I rarely do!

What I’m watching and reading: I’ve been watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
