Rock Band Blitz available for download on August 28; new songs announced

Submitted by on Wednesday, 18 July 20122 Comments

Rock Band Blitz will be available to download on the PlayStation Network for $14.99 on August 28, Harmonix announced today.

Taking the Rock Band franchise in a new direction, Blitz features notes laid across five lanes and requires players to match as many of them as possible with the controller to score the most points. That’s right, Rock Band Blitz doesn’t need a fancy music instrument peripheral to be played. You’re regular controller will do just fine.

Harmonix have also revealed four more songs included in the game. They are “So Far Away” by Avenged Sevenfold, “We Are Young” by Fun. ft. Janelle Monáe, “Jungle Boogie” by Kool & The Gang, and “Sing” by My Chemical Romance. You can check out the rest of the songs over at the official website.

As with previous Rock Band games, you’ll be able to export songs across the entire RB library as well as download more songs from the Rock Band Music Store. Blitz’s songs are also compatible with Rock Band 3 for those who want to rock out to its songs in the more traditional way.
