Wreck-It Ralph joins the All-Stars cast of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Alongside Sonic, and the recently announced Danica Patrick and Joe Musashi, comes Wreck-It Ralph ready to transform his video game based movie presence into a real video game appearance. Wreck-It Ralph is the starring antagonist of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ next full length animated theatrical release of which bears the same name in both the movie and the fictional video game.
In Wreck-It Ralph the movie, voice actor John C. Reilly portrays Ralph as a confused villain starring in his own video game. He realizes that being defeated game after game, night after night is not the career path he’s destined for and seeks out a new starring roll. But jumping video games is not as easy as it may seem.
Though none of this is relevant in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Rich Moore, director of the animated feature film Wreck-It Ralph, explains the meaning behind this marketing maneuver:
To have Wreck-It Ralph included in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is a dream come true. The film pays homage to the video games I loved as a kid, including Sonic the Hedgehog in a special cameo, so being able to see Wreck-It Ralph in a real video game alongside Sonic and other iconic SEGA characters is unbelievably exciting for me and should be a treat for fans!
So, Sonic will appear in Wreck-It Ralph’s upcoming movie 2 November, 2012 in the US and 15 February, 2013 in the UK. Wreck-It Ralph will be in Sonic’s next racing game, expected to ship this November. Sounds like an even swap. We can only imagine who will be announced next for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Are there any characters you would be surprised to see in Sonic’s racing sequel or would the announcement of Mario and Luigi be the next logical step?
