The 7-inch Archos GamePad is gunning for PS Vita
The French electronics company Archos has announced a new 7-inch gaming tablet which bears more than a passing resemblance to Sony’s flagship handheld gaming device.
The Archos GamePad was announced at IFA2012 in Berlin. It features a 7-inch capacitive screen, face buttons, a D-pad and even two nubby looking sticks.
The Google certified device is powered by a 1.5Ghz processor with a Mali 400mp quad-core GPU and will have total access to the Google Play store. Archos says:
“Until now, tablets provided gamers with touch controls that lacked response and compatibility, providing a disappointing gaming experience. As one of the main tablet uses, there is a strong need for a tablet that does more for gaming.”

The Archos GamePad sports a completely innovative design
The Archos GamePad will be cheaper than PS Vita (it’s launching for under £130); however, there’s a clear drop in quality. Should Sony fear this when it launches this October? Llet us know your thoughts below…
