David Bateson officially confirmed as the voice of Agent 47 in Hitman: Absolution
Square Enix has confirmed that veteran voice actor David Bateson will once again be the voice of deadly assassin Agent 47 in the upcoming Hitman: Absolution. He joins the likes of Marsha Thomason, Keith Carradine, Vivica Fox, Shannyn Sossamon and Powers Boothe.
Bateson has voiced Agent 47 since the original Hitman: Codename 47 was released way back in 2000 so it should come as no surprise that he is returning for Absolution. In addition, Agent 47’s motion capture performance will be handled by actor William Mapother, who’s best know for his role as Ethan on LOST.
It was originally thought that Bateson wouldn’t be providing the voice of Agent 47 and that a new actor would fill in the role. In response, Brand Director Jon Brooke said, “IO and Bateson have been bed fellows for over a decade and like all long running relationships sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder. Looking back I think we were just playing hard to get.”
Hitman: Absolution is set for release globally on November 20, 2012. More information can be found on the official Hitman website.
