Insomniac Games announces Fuse; first screenshot unveiled

Submitted by on Friday, 31 August 2012One Comment

Insomniac Games has announced a new IP entitled Fuse today, revealing the first screenshot from the upcoming game. Founder Ted Price announced the title as part of his PAX Prime keynote speech.

In the lone screenshot, we can see a human soldier coming face to face with a robotic mech and some sort of glowing core. That’s what we believe it to be, in any case. Little is currently known about the title and Insomniac Games isn’t saying much. At least, not yet.

They’ve posted to Twitter and Facebook a link to, which promptly displays a countdown that will end in a little over 11 days on September 12th.

It’s interesting to note that words resembling “Overstrike Data Node” can be seen above the counter. Could Fuse be a reworking of Insomniac’s upcoming multi-platform title Overstrike? We haven’t heard anything about the game since it was unveiled at E3 2011 so it’s entirely possible.

Whatever the case may be, we’re sure to find out more in the coming weeks.
