Raiden slices his way in to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
Sony has announced that cyborg ninja Raiden of Metal Gear Solid fame is making his brawler debut in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
Will he be able to hold his own against the impressive cast or will he forever lose due to Rose calling him at inopportune times?
Raiden is a close-range fighter, preferring to use his high-frequency blade to slash and slice through the opposition in mid-air and on the ground. He will be prone to long combos as he will possess a special chain-attack system which allows him to fight with a variety of combos, branching in to each one depending on what buttons you press during battle.
He’s capable of defending himself against those who try to interrupt his combos with parries and reverse attacks, allowing his combo to continue without interference. This will be very useful in a free-for-all match and will see Raiden becoming a favourite playable character.
Raiden’s super attacks allow you to slash through enemies by using the right analog stick, reminiscent of the gameplay found in the MGS titles.

Also revealed is a new stage based on the Ape Escape series, perfect to compliment the recently announced character Spike. Fans will recognise the stage, dubbed Time Station, as the central hub that links Ape Escape levels together.
More announcements are promised to be revealed at PAX and we will update you with all the latest news.
