Insomniac reveal debut trailer for upcoming title Fuse
Developer Insomniac has revealed the debut trailer for Fuse, formerly known as Overstrike, and it’s packed with creative weapons and colourful characters, something that we’ve come to expect from Insomniac.
The art style we saw in Overstrike’s debut trailer is all but gone, leaving us with a much more realistic, less bright and vivid game. The characters have kept their original designs but now, sadly, it seems the most colourful aspect of the title will be red headed lady.
Fuse seems to be Resistance inspired in enemy design and weapon abilities with things such as a Magshield, an Auger-like shield which allows you to protect yourself from incoming attacks.
The Shattergun produces thick, long spikes which restrain enemies who then shatter when under fire and the Warp Rifle produces gravitational warp fields which pull in enemies and explode after a couple of seconds.
Lastly, the Arcshot seems to be a much more violent weapon as it allows you to burn and melt several enemies at once. You can also fire crossbow type arrows which hold the enemy to a wall, crate, etc, which again can cause fire damage.
These weapons and new art style can be seen in the debut trailer below:
Fuse, Insomniac’s first multi-platform title, will feature 4 player co-op and is slated to release March 2013.
