Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee HD and first Mudocon fan meetup at Eurogamer Expo 2012

News of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee HD is still less than a couple months old and now developer Just Add Water will have the game running at Eurogamer Expo 2012 in London on 30 September. Though the show runs from 27 September through 30 September, the Abe restoration team will have their developer session on the final day at 15:00.

The Oddworld Trilogy was to be released back on PS One and saw two games come to fruition. The games to follow hit Xbox exclusively, and later on the 360 exclusively. PS3 has already received Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD and it was patched to include PS Move controller support. Just Add Water is currently working on the Vita-enhanced port. Just today, Just Add Water held a live stream showcasing the gameplay, touch screen controls and menu UI.

Abe HD, as the people at Just Add Water are calling it, is a high definition overhaul of the original Abe’s Oddysee released back on 19 September, 1997. The first in-game image released to the massesĀ of Abe in HD was a dark one with him standing next to a Directory in a dimly little factory. Images like this ring in the memories of countless attempts to avoid being diced up by a meat grinder or attempting to escort others without the same fate.

There’s a fart button. This game is awesome! We gamers are easy to please.

Everything up to this Mudocon fan meetup announcement has been airtight with not a single leak of information about the HD remake. It is still in an extremely early phase of development, but we hope to get more information from Just Add Water at Eurogamer Expo 2012. Tell us what you’re most difficult puzzle was in the original Abe’s Oddysee?
