PC hit Terraria coming soon to consoles
Side-scrolling, action-adventure sandbox game Terraria will soon be getting a console port and be available on PSN and XBLA in early 2013, 505 Games announced today.
The game has already seen critical acclaim and success on the PC, with 1.6 million players crafting and exploring their own worlds. Players can travel through randomly generated worlds to collect and build their own items to defend themselves against predators, further their exploration, or simply build their own unique world. It’s a game that’s similar to Minecraft, but on more of a 2D plane.
The upcoming console version of the game plans to include all new-content as well.
“The block-building genre has taken the world by storm and Terraria has garnered a massive following through its increased focus on adventure and discovery.” said Tim Woodley, Head of Global Brand for 505 Games. “We’re looking forward to bringing an already hugely successful experience to a brand new console audience and we can’t wait for the existing Terraria fan base to experience all-new content”.
