The much anticipated sequel to the zombie infested paradise Dead Island now has an official release date of April 23 in North America and on April 26 in the rest of the world, announced Deep Silver.

Dead Island Riptide will be available in two special editions as well, and both are currently available for pre-order.

The Pre-Order Edition will include “an exclusive pack of weapon mods that allows even more, manifold ways to dispose of the ghastly zombie hordes on Palanai island.” There will also be Special Retailers Editions include an alternate character skin not obtainable anywhere else in addition to the weapons mods from the Pre-Order Edition. What specific stores that will carry the special edition has yet to be revealed but expect news soon.
