PS3A PlayTime – week of 8 October, 2012
Come join us once a week where we prove that our spare time isn’t entirely consumed by pounding away at a keyboard, but also by mashing the buttons of our DualShock 3s and Vitas. So why not share with you a little bit about the games that we have found the time to play amidst our busy summer schedules.
We put the hurt on PlayStation Mobile games this week. PS3 Attitude’s PSM Picks went live and has barely scratched the surface of what looks to be a solid line up of quality launch titles for the fledgling platform. Grab your Vita and PlayStation Certified Android devices to enjoy the PSM Picks. And if bite sized mobile gaming isn’t your thing, but karaoke a la potentially free-to-play Singstar is.
Dan Amrich gets all the credit for bringing Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified back into our sights, and we share with you our 5 franchises that should come to Vita. While the UK celebrates a whopping 5 million PS3 consoles sold, Joe Danger flipped into our lives thanks to last week’s PlayStation Store Refreshes for both North American and European markets. Take a look at the posts of the past seven days:

What I’m playing: Red Dead Redemption, Shift II, Final Fantasy V, Fuel Ticarus, Worms: Battle Island, Treasure Park, Zen Pinball 2 and Ecolibrium.
Accomplishments: Finally got round to finishing Red Dead Redemption, so that’s another one I can knock off my shame pile. Some ending, eh?
What I’m watching and reading: Started watching Sherlock, and I can see why people like it. It’s full of wit and energy. I’ll definitely watch more. I saw Looper at the cinema, which I thought was great apart from a few misjudged scenes. It’s Bruce reprising his Twelve Monkeys role – what’s not to like?

What I’m playing: Finished both Leon and Chris’ campaign in Resident Evil 6. Now onto Jake’s. Also played PlayStation All-Stars and Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation at the PlayStation on Campus tour.
Accomplishments: Managed to place 3rd in a high score battle in PlayStation All-Stars. Wasn’t good enough to score the free PULSE Elite Edition headset that went to the winner, though.
What I’m watching and reading: Re-watched Season 2 of The Walking Dead in preparation for the Season 3 premiere. Now I’m even more excited for what the new season will have in store for fans.

What I’m playing: Dead or Alive 5, LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, a handful of PS Mobile games.
Accomplishments: After around 50 hours of playing Dead or Alive 5, you would think I’d know a few decent combos by now, but I often still revert back to that tried and tested fighting game tactic of button mashing. It takes me back to the good old days of playing Tekken 3 on PSone; damn you, Heihachi!
What I’m watching and reading: Started Angels and Demons again, with a view to reading The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol after that.

KosmoCrisis
What I’m playing: This week I played Ben10 Galactic Racing (Vita), LittleBigPlanet Vita, Splinter Cell HD Collection (PS3), and Rock Band everything.
Accomplishments: My birthday week has started out with a party this weekend, held at my house. Good company, lots of kids, and good food rounded out the day, while lots of Rock Band rounded out the night. I was challenged to a few games of Mortal Kombat 1, 2, and U3. I don’t lose. My Vita got a workout with Ben10 which I downloaded from PSN for $15. I’m a sucker for kart racing games and this one isn’t bad. Not as good as Sonic & All-Stars Racing. It also hard froze my Vita, where debug text appeared on the screen. That can’t be good!
What I’m watching and reading: Friends advised me to start watching Breaking Bad or I should just sell my tv. Anyone agree with that logic? Watched Sherlock Holmes season 1, which ended perfectly. But the well built cliff hanger was completely resolved in the first 10 minutes of season 2. What…?

What I’m playing: Resident Evil 6, Dead or Alive 5, Dishonored, Castlevania: Lord of Shadows, Derrick the Deathfin, WipEout 2048, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Vita.
Accomplishments: A dead guy on Dishonored fell at an awkward angle so it looked like his body was doing the worm.
What I’m watching and reading: Take Me Out, Celebrity Juice, The Cube. Reading Harry Potter and Deus Ex: Icarus Effect and the latest GamesMaster.
