PS3A PlayTime – week of 10 December, 2012
Come join us once a week where we prove that our spare time isn’t entirely consumed by pounding away at a keyboard, but also by mashing the buttons of our DualShock 3s and Vitas. What games have we been playing? What cool adventures have we been on? It’s PlayTime!
As we get even closer to the end of the year, game news gets thinner and thinner. Only being pushed by a wrap up on 2012 and our Game of the Year coverage. Look for this to come really soon. I bet your wondering what we have in store for the choices this year. We would sure like to know what your GotY choices are.
PS3 Attitude reviewed Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force this week, which is the European title of the game. North America knows it as Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault. Did we like it? Did we hate it? You’ll have to read the review to find out.
Take this opportunity to get a final glance at this past week’s PlayStation Store releases. Some deals particular to your region may be expiring tomorrow as the new deals surface. And these new deals sound pretty hard to pass up. For example in North America: Rayman Origins for PS3 (Sale: $13.99, PS Plus: $9.80, Regular: $19.99).
Let’s take a look at the posts of the past seven days:
What I’m playing: Finished Gravity Rush on the Vita and that was basically it.
Accomplishments: Almost had my entire save disappear when the game crashed and I couldn’t get it to load back up. Turns out I just had to take out the memory card and re-insert it. Whew…
What I’m watching and reading: Nothing new in terms of other entertainment. It’s been a fairly calm week.
What I’m playing: Ratchet & Clank: QForce, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Smart As, Spyro 2!!!
Accomplishments: Despite a long list of PS3 and Vita games to play, most of my gaming time this week has been spent reliving my childhood on a 13-year-old PSone game; namely Spyro 2. It’s quite humbling to blitz past certain sections that took me hours to complete back in the day – maybe my gaming skills have improved since 1999 after all.
What I’m watching and reading: Bert le Clos at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year just about made my Christmas!
What I’m playing: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (Vita), Pid (PSN), Sine Mora (Vita), Black Knight Sword (PSN), Smart As..(Vita).
Accomplishments: Talk about a busy week of entertaining guests in my home. But I did manage to keep up on my daily brain training in Smart As. I find it hard for anything to tear me away from PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, just an amazing game. And some downloadable games are keeping me working such as pid, Sine Mora, and now Black Knight Sword.
What I’m watching and reading: I wish I had time to watch and read a thing. Other than keeping up on Twitter, hearing what happened in Connecticut hits too close to home, not regionally, but because my daughter is the same age. Words cannot express the sadness I have for the loss of so many innocent lives and the parents who must now move on from such tragedy. I can’t imagine the emotional breakdown I would be going through if I were in that situation.
What I’m playing: Far Cry 3, Sonic Adventure 2, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, LiltteBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet Vita, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, LittleBigPlanet Karting, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, God of War: Ascension Beta.
Accomplishments: A tiger jumped out of nowhere and terrified me on Far Cry 3. Enough said.
What I’m watching and reading: Been reading Resident Evil: Caliban Cove and GamesMaster, been watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother. Also watched Friends with Benefits.
