Killer Is Dead; Suda 51 reveals Mondo Zappa

Submitted by on Monday, 21 January 2013No Comment

mondo-zappaSuda 51 has announced details for ‘Killer is Dead’, a new title for PS3 that will be launched in Japan this summer. In this first of a number of promised videos, we get to meet Mondo Zappa.

Mondo is a 35-year-old American assassin. Working for a covert hitman agency, Mondo is sent to take out other killers in a ‘near-future’ world. A stylish sort, you can expect Mondo to be a bit of a womaniser although, as you’ll see in the video, one of the females in his life has a little surprise tucked away.

In a recent interview with Famitsu Suda 51 explains more about the game, which is said to pick up where Killer7 and No More Heroes left off.

“It’s the story of a man who doesn’t show himself much in the public world but still worms his way into society and mercilessly eliminates the evil dispersed in it.”

Whether or when the game will see a US or EU release is not yet known. What is also a mystery at present is whether Mondo, who shares his name and somewhat of a likeness with Sumio Mondo, hero of early Grasshopper title ‘Flower, Sun and Rain’, have any connection to each other.

Hungry for the next Killer is Dead episode. Keep your eyes peeled on the teaser website
