Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus comes to PS Plus in North America

Submitted by on Monday, 28 January 2013No Comment

PSPlus_FebruaryNipping at the heels of the EU PlayStation Plus announcement is North America with a surprising Instant Game Collection choice. We can’t think of a better choice to go up against the 2012 surprise hit Sleeping Dogs than the Vita remake of a five year old game. Can Ninja Gaiden Sigma quell the desires of North America long enough to find out next months disappointing PS Plus offerings?

It’s likely that statistics would show more Vita owners have not played Ninja Gaiden Sigma than PS3 owners who’ve not played Sleeping Dogs. If that was a deciding factor in why a Vita game is being showcased ahead of a PS3 game, then we could also ignore the fact that Sony is trying to push the sales of the Vita. That, of course, is a whole different conversation.

Let’s preview what’s coming to North America beginning 29 January for PS Plus subscribers:

PS3 Instant Game Collection:

  • N/A

Vita Instant Game Collection:

  • FREE – Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus

Exclusive Plus Deals:

  • $29.39 – Madden 13 – PS3 (reg. $41.99)
  • $19.59 – Madden 13 – Vita (reg. $27.99)
  • $2.50 – Gatling Gears – PSN (reg. $4.99)
  • $5.00 – Section 8: Prejudice – PSN (reg. $9.99)
  • $2.50 – Greed Corp. – PSN (reg. $4.99) (US and Canada only)

In all fairness, North America has already received Quantum Conundrum, WipEout 2048, and Just Cause 2 as past free Instant Game Collection additions. But that doesn’t change the fact that Sleeping Dogs is an epic choice that should win the month of February with this early PS Plus announcement. Will SCEA save face with a mid-month PS Plus addition?
