New Dead or Alive 5 Plus screenshots mix pain with pleasure
We’ve always known Team Ninja, the minds behind the Dead or Alive series, have had a somewhat questionable hidden agenda when it came to designing their female fighters. Dead or Alive 5 Plus is going to take this theme into a whole new perspective, the first-person kind.
Exclusive to Dead or Alive 5 Plus on Vita is an all-new mode with a twist. Quite literally, the player must twist the system from landscape to portrait in order to play Touch Fight. This will allow the first-person view of the opponent to take over the entire screen from head to toe.
Touch Fight will replace the physical buttons with simple taps and swipes. A 5-hit combo will engage Critical Burst forcing the enemy to drop their guard for a short period of time. The press release teases how “characters will react based on where they are touched or attacked, combining the realistic feel of a first-person view with full player control.”
In the image gallery below, we can see how the bikini clad fighter placed in a first-person fighting game requiring touch input could be grounds for an M-rating by the ESRB. Just the ESRB description of the Touch Fight mode would be an entertaining read. There are also a couple images of new training modes found in DOA5+ including Free Training, Command Training, and Combo Challenge modes.
Dead or Alive 5 Plus is touching down exclusively onto PlayStation Vita on 22 March for $39.99/£34.99. You can join us in pre-ordering the game right this second by hitting up Amazon.com for North America or Game.co.uk for Europe.
