PS3A PlayTime: 11th-17th Feb 2013
Unfortunately it’s not been a great week at Attitude Towers, with half of the team still struggling with various illnesses (you name it, one of us has probably caught it). That said, we still found the time to play some games, which this week included Dead Space 3, DmC: Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.
My run of poor health continues this week. There hasn’t been a weekend go by in 2013 where I haven’t had a cold, flu or norovirus. This week? Tendinitis in my arm. As a result, I’ve been focusing on getting the right treatment for it and not playing games, reading books or watching (too much) TV. Of course, I made an exception for Ni No Kuni, which I can’t put down. I did catch the movie Sinister, which I thought was actually pretty good. It isn’t often a Western horror movie catches my attention (I prefer my horror to be delivered from Japan or South Korea), but if you like scares, this one is very well put together.
My goal from last week of finishing Dead Space 3 turned out to be more difficult than I initially thought. Suffice to say the necromorphs still live. I have been playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, though I can’t say anything about that until Tuesday. I rounded out my week with Generation of Chaos: Pandora’s Reflection on the PSP via the PS Vita when I’m on the go.
I’ve been ill fairly regularly this year, also! Been spending a lot of time on Dead Space 3, which is just as good as its predecessors, Resident Evil 6, Ni No Kuni and Tales of Graces f. Shamefully, I’ve changed the difficult on Ni No Kuni from normal to easy because I feel like I am spending a lot of time grinding but hopefully it’ll still be relatively challenging because Normal doesn’t seem to want me to progress! Also playing through Bioshock 1 in preparation for Infinite, and because it’s a great title and I haven’t played it in years. I watched The Fox and the Hound and Jackass 3, which my girlfriend was revolted by in some of the more disgusting pranks, but it was still enjoyable.
I played a lot of LittleBigPlanet Karting at the beginning of the week, and thankfully was just about able to complete it before DmC: Devil May Cry and Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch arrived in the post. I haven’t played much Ni No Kuni yet (I’m saving it!), but I’ve been extremely impressed with DmC – the level design in particular is superb. I also found a bit of time to finally make a start on Sports Champions 2, which is the most fun I’ve had with the Move since the original game nearly two and a half years ago.
