PS3A PlayTime: 18th-24th Feb 2013
It’s safe to say that the announcement of the PS4 has got the PS3 Attitude team pretty excited about the rest of the year (even though it’s also got us wondering whether we should change the name of the site). Anyway, fortunately we still have plenty to keep us occupied on PS3 before we plunge headfirst into next-gen. Here’s what we’ve been up to this week…
This week I’ve been continuing with Ni No Kuni, which remains brilliant and constantly surprising. I’ve also been playing Sleeping Dogs; I like it, but it’s glitchy as hell! In one mission, I had to smash up a car. I had a tyre iron already, but the game insisted on me dumping that one only to retrieve an identical tyre iron from the trunk. Then, when the owner came out to confront me, I defeated him only to be thrown sixty feet in the air! As the mission completion text appeared, I was in mid-air… helpless. After pressing X to return to the game, I landed, died and ended up paying 1500 HK$ in medical fees! Hilarious glitches like this happen often, but the game is still huge fun; on PS4, I could have shared the glitch instantly for everyone to see!
This has been a relatively busy week for me yet I still managed to get a decent amount of gaming in with Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Dead Space 3. Of course, I also watched the reveal of the PS4 and can’t wait until this holiday. I’m excited as I’ve ever been for a new console, and that my friends, is a very good thing.
I had the week off work, so I spent my time catching up with the old PS3; ever since Wednesday’s big reveal, I can’t help but think of the PS3 as anything but ‘old’ now! As always, I didn’t manage to play half the games I wanted to, but I did at least complete DmC: Devil May Cry and earn the Sports Champions 2 platinum trophy. I got back into Dead or Alive 5 this week too, and have now officially done everything I can be bothered to do before the Vita version arrives in a few weeks’ time (Cross Save FTW!). I also played a bit of Bentley’s Hackpack and Urban Trial Freestyle on Vita, both of which have been good fun in between meatier titles.
