PS3A PlayTime – week of 4 February, 2013
Come join us once a week where we prove that our spare time isn’t entirely consumed by pounding away at a keyboard, but also by mashing the buttons of our DualShock 3s and Vitas. What games have we been playing? What cool adventures have we been on? It’s PlayTime!
The PS3 Attitude Awards 2013 have kicked off this past week allowing our readers to vote for their favorites in a number of categories. Not only is there a Game of the Year, but also Best PSM, Best Vita, Best Music, Best Graphics, and more. Please click through the categories below and cast your vote today.
News has reached our shores at PS3 Attitude Towers that the Wii U is further losing it’s foothold as a ‘next gen’ console thanks to Ubisoft and Tecmo Koei. They both have announced former Wii U exclusives are now coming to PS3 and that doesn’t sit too well with Nintendo fanboys. We’re just hoping the extra time will not only bring quality ports to PS3, but also include some Cross Controller features bridging the divide between Wii U and PS3/Vita capabilities.
DolphGB is preparing his best vocabulary for an upcoming Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch review you won’t want to miss. Majiesto, KosmoCrisis, and Stefhutch20 played some PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale over the weekend on PS3 and Vita. And it’s possible the world will never come to agree on what ‘football’ is, but we do know The Following does not apply.
Let’s take a look at the posts of the past seven days:

What I’m playing: I’ve been playing Ni No Kuni this week as I finish my play-through before publishing our full review.
Accomplishments: There are some really awesome moments in Ni No Kuni, but I’m not going to go ahead and steal my own thunder by telling you about them just yet. You’ll have to read the review later this week!
What I’m watching and reading: I started watching The Following. It seems OK, but there are at least three or four things that happen in each episode that just annoy the hell out of me. I may stick with it, but I’m not sure right now. I did watch the English dub of Summer Wars though, and that was superb. Check it out if you haven’t seen it already.

Majiesto
What I’m playing: Played a lot of Dead Space 3. Was hoping to finish the game this past weekend but alas, it looks like it wasn’t meant to be.
Accomplishments: Part of why I didn’t beat it was because I spend probably a good hour or so on this one section during an optional mission at the disposal facility. Kept dying over and over again but finally beat it after who knows how many attempts.
What I’m watching and reading: Watched the mid-season return of The Walking Dead. Sunday evenings just became relevant again.

KosmoCrisis
What I’m playing: When Vikings Attack DLC: When Vikings Relax!, Bentley’s Hackpack, LEGO Lord of the Rings Vita, Let’s Fish! Hooked On, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Psychonauts, Unfinished Swan
Accomplishments: Downloaded When Vikings Relax DLC to play with a friend who live streamed our session. That was fun, getting my butt kicked over and over for others to see. Bentley’s Hackpack is a lot of fun. I’m shocked at how big the file sizes are for both PS3 and Vita giving the fact that its just a collection of minigames. Booted up Psychonauts for the first time and got a bit closer to beating Unfinished Swan.
What I’m watching and reading: Caught up on the newest episodes of Bones and Castle. Hulu+ has plenty of other British comedies to fill the void left behind by Little Britain. Watched the first three Twilight movies with my wife. She read all the books so it seemed only fair I catch up with the Cliff’s Notes.

Stefhutch20
What I’m playing: Dead or Alive 5, LittleBigPlanet Karting, Ninja Gaiden 3
Accomplishments: I finally got around to playing LittleBigPlanet Karting a bit this week (I’ve been sitting on it since Christmas). It’s good fun, but I plan to pick up Ni No Kuni very soon, so LBPK may have to move over again for the foreseeable future!
What I’m watching and reading: I couldn’t believe my eyes when England beat Brazil… at football! Will wonders never cease?
