R&C Vita delayed (again), Europe gets worst deal (again)
After being pushed back to January from its original November release date, the Vita version of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault (known as QForce in Europe) has been delayed again. The new release date is only a vague ‘Spring 2013’.
No specific reason for the delay was given, just that Tin Giant (the developer responsible for the Vita port) needs ‘more time to bring the game up to the standards expected by our fans’, and that ‘we are doing our best to get the game into your hands as soon as possible’.
The delay is made all the stranger considering that the PS3 and PS Vita versions of both PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time launched simultaneously, so we don’t really see what the holdup is with Ratchet & Clank.
To apologise for the on-going delay, Sony have announced that owners of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be able to download the upcoming Ratchet: Deadlocked HD at no extra cost once the former finally arrives. Well, if you live in North America that is.
So what are European gamers getting instead?
MotorStorm RC; a cheap game that is forever on sale, been out for a year, has nothing to do with Ratchet & Clank, and is likely already owned by many of the affected consumers. Naturally, European R&C fans aren’t too happy about this, and have voiced their less-than-favourable thoughts over on the PS blog. When will SCEE learn, eh?
