PS3A PlayTime: 25th Feb – 3rd Mar 2013
As usual, the PS3 Attitude team has been playing a wide range of videogames over the past week. Amongst other things, we’ve been busy stealth-killing in Assassin’s Creed III, slicing and dicing in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, laughing at hilarious glitches in Sleeping Dogs and participating in high-score battles in Star Wars Pinball.
This week saw me continuing to blast through Sleeping Dogs. I have to admit, I’m really enjoying the story so far and the almost farcical glitches haven’t once stopped me from enjoying the game. I also took a few moments this week to check out F1 Race Stars, another of those titles PS Plus subscribers can get their hands on gratis. It isn’t the best kart-racing game I’ve ever played, but it isn’t terrible either and the neat little pre-race animations are fun. I can’t see myself playing it often, but it’s better than I expected. Other than gaming, we had a James Bond marathon in the lead-up to watching Skyfall on Blu-ray, which I enjoyed immensely. Everything you want from a Bond movie…
I’ve been playing a lot of Star Wars Pinball and even got into a heated high score competition with former PS3 Attitude writer KosmoCrisis; needless to say I’ve been dominating it. I’ve also just started Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory and am already overwhelmed with the abundance of videogame references. Other than that, it’s been a quiet week.
I’ve not had much playtime this week but I have been playing Metal Gear Rising and the boss fight with Mistral is still one of the most fast-paced, enjoyable battles I’ve experienced in gaming (with an awesome soundtrack to boot!) I’ve also been playing PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and When Vikings Attack!; as fun as they are in single-player, they truly shine in multiplayer. On Vita I’ve been playing Mutant Blobs Attack. It’s much more fun than I expected, and makes for a nice PS+ freebie. I will hopefully be getting my Ni No Kuni and Tomb Raider game face on this week; woop woop!
I finally forced myself to continue with Assassin’s Creed III this week, but didn’t get particularly far; unfortunately my opinion still hasn’t improved from when I last played it four months ago. I have a tendency to rant about it to whoever will listen, so it’s probably best for everyone if I just say I was disappointed, and move on. I also played a fair amount of Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus on PS Vita, which I’m determined to complete before I start the newly released Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus (however much I die in the process!). With Dead or Alive 5 Plus also arriving on Vita in a couple of weeks’ time, Team Ninja is quickly becoming one of my favourite developers!
