Thomas Was Alone coming to PS3 and PS Vita
It seems like every other week there’s another announcement of a popular PC game coming to PS3 and PS Vita! First it was Frozen Synapse, then Hotline Miami, and now is the turn of puzzle platformer Thomas Was Alone.
Developed almost singlehandedly by British game designer Mike Bithell, Thomas Was Alone is ‘a game about rectangles and friendship’. Mike recently introduced the game on the PS blog, so here’s a little more of what he had to say:
“Thomas Was Alone is a platformer where the goal is simple – get all the characters to their exit portals. You’ll find that becomes increasingly harder than it sounds. Use their skills in tandem, be it flotation, anti-gravity, bounciness or, well, jumping slightly higher.
I was lucky enough to find some incredible collaborators who made my script sound good, and my environments sound far more awesome than their humble rectangular graphics. I was shocked when a community formed and people actually played it.”
The intriguing story is narrated by the awesome Danny Wallace (most famous in the videogame world for playing Shaun Hastings in the Assassin’s Creed series), while the music was scored by David Housden (who has also composed the soundtrack for various other indie games).
The PS versions of the game will even support cross-buy, and come with new content including a creator’s commentary and a timed exclusive DLC prologue. Thomas Was Alone will be arriving on PSN this spring.
