E3 13; Ubisoft announces Tom Clancy’s The Division
Undoubtedly the biggest surprise to come out of Ubisoft’s conference yesterday was the announcement of Tom Clancy’s The Division. The publisher arguably stole the show at E3 2012 with Watch Dogs, so could it be possible they’ve done the same this year?
Judging by the first footage, they just might have.
First up is the incredibly well done (not to mention terrifying) ‘Breakdown’ reveal trailer, which paints a grim picture for the future of mankind. Global pandemics aren’t exactly new territory for video games, but The Division is given more credibility by the fact that its fiction is based on the real-life Operation Dark Winter bio-terrorist attack simulation.
And then there’s the gameplay trailer. We don’t want to spoil anything (watch it for yourself above!), but needless to say the graphics look razor sharp, with some seriously cool ideas in terms of presentation and gameplay.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is in development at Massive Entertainment (now also known as Ubisoft Massive), and is expected to release on PS4 next year.
