GC 13; PS4 launch date revealed

Submitted by on Tuesday, 20 August 2013No Comment

ps4-logoSony has announced that the PlayStation 4 will launch on 15th November in North America and two weeks later, on 29th November, in Europe. The console will be arriving in 32 countries this year.

The announcement was made by Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, during the company’s media briefing at Gamescom, currently underway in Cologne, Germany.

Along with the release date, it was also revealed that pre-orders of the PlayStation 4 have reached 1 million units, which may explain Sony’s recent remarks that they cannot guarantee a console on launch day for every pre-order.

With the PS4 a mere three months away, Sony also announced that the PS Vita and 12GB PS3 will both receive a price drop in the near future. The consoles will each be available at an R.R.P. of $199/€199.
