Thomas Was Alone creator reveals next project

Submitted by on Tuesday, 13 August 2013No Comment

volume-logoMike Bithell, creator of the excellent Thomas Was Alone, has just announced his latest project. Volume is a top-down stealth game with an emphasis on user-created content, and it looks – in a word – awesome.

The debut trailer (below) reveals that Volume has clearly been heavily influenced by Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid series, but that certainly isn’t a bad thing.

As well as the above trailer, a gameplay video was also released, which includes commentary by Mike Bithell (you can watch it here). The footage explains more about the game’s creation tool, which gives an extensive range of options and yet looks relatively simple to use. Of course, the game will also include a story mode with pre-made levels.

Volume will be arriving in 2014, but launch platforms haven’t yet be announced. However, as Thomas Was Alone saw a release on both the PS3 and Vita earlier this year, we’d bet money on Volume appearing on at least one PlayStation console in the future.
