AtlusTwenty publishers are hoping to acquire developer Atlus by the end of August.

Atlus are well-known for their highly-acclaimed series’ Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Trauma Centre and standalone title Catherine. Also known for their adorable Jack Frost mascot.

Whilst 19 of the publishers are currently unknown, Sega has come forward to say that they are interested in purchasing Atlus. The 20 publishers will be wittled down as early as next week with hopes that a buyer will be found by the end of this month.

Atlus are being auctioned off due to financial difficulties after its parent company, Index Holdings, filed for bankruptcy.

The current highest bid is reportedly ¥20 billion/£132 million/$203 million which is 5 billion higher than Index Holdings were expecting Рgood news for Atlus!

Nobody wants a sad Nanako!

We don’t know which publisher put in this bid but we’re hoping that Sony purchase Atlus. We love the Persona games on Sony platforms and hope that the level of high-quality we’ve come to expect remains, regardless of who buys them.

Who do you wish would buy Atlus? Let us know in the usual place below.
