Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII to come with Japanese voiceover

Submitted by on Thursday, 21 November 2013No Comment

0021Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII released today in Japan and we can admit to maybe shedding a tear or two. Metaphorically.

But in good news, you’ll now be able to pick between the English and Japanese voice-overs when it arrives overseas, pleasing those who aren’t fans of the English dub, although we can’t understand what’s not to love with Ali Hillis and Troy Baker.

This is a first for the series and the Japanese voice-over pack will be free for the first two weeks, becoming paid for DLC once the fortnight is up. You can always add it to your download list regardless of whether or not you own the game though, so it’ll always be there in future.

As with the previous installments in the XIII series, the lip-syncing has been altered so that no matter which language you choose, the characters won’t be flapping their jaws around needlessly.

Will you be using the English or Japanese voice-overs? Let us know in the usual place below.
